On Saturday nite Supertouch's own ERIK FOSS managed to transform his otherwise morally upstanding FUSE GALLERY into a den of sin when the "Revelations" show opened its doors. Filling the space with visual meditations on the word of the lord were artists Phil Frost, Eric White, Dash Snow, The Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes, J Penry, Travis Louie, Ron English, Brendan Donnelly, Cheryl Dunn, Neck Face, Read More
Much has been said about British bad boy artist DAMIEN HIRST's groundbreaking $100 million diamond-encrusted platinum skull titled "For The Love of God" since it went on display at London's White Cube Gallery in June, but to date, little has been revealed about the making of this bling masterpiece, until now. Supertouch offers a step-by-step look at the creation of this masterwork which was created FOR the artist by some of the masters of European jewelry making at London's Bentley & Skinner using over 8,601 of the world's most perfect, flawless diamonds and 2,156 grams of fresh platinum (not to mention $28 million of the artist's own money).
It's summertime in the city and much of the Manhattan art world is officially closed for business, but Erik Foss' FUSE GALLERY never closes and Saturday nite's opening reception for the group "Revelation" show is the place to be this weekend. Featuring artwork by over 50 artists including Dash Snow, Eric White, Cheryl Dunn, Brendan Donnelly, Phil Frost, Michael Hussar, Ron English, J Penry, Neck Face, Ron English, and the Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes, all musing on the mystery of Read More

Supertouch's own BILLY F GIBBONS (dat ZZ boy) drops a sneek peek at the prototypes of his upcoming ultra-limited edition kustom Gibson Les Paul line. Handmade by the master luthiers at the big G, this tiny run of gold top Pauls will feature custom pinstriping by BFG himself, special neck inlays, one pickup (the neck will be a dummy), NO toggle switch, and THREE control knobs. Upping the ante is an incredibly lightweight chambered body (it weighs less than a Telecaster) and an ultra-weathered custom shop "relic" finish that will top the whole thing off. Expect around a Read More
Supertouch guest blogger ERIC WHITE implores all serious art fans to get to the MET before October 14th to take in a monumental show of pure classical painting force by the legendary talent NEO RAUCH. Created especially for the landmark exhibit by the genre-defying East German painter (are they Surrealist, Pop, Post-Pop, Post-Modern?), the large-scale oil paintings find their place easily in the grand palace of high art, with each theatrically staged canvas revealing the artist's classical influences, examples of which can be found throughout the museum itself in the various wings of European painting. The real high point of Rauch's momentus new collection, though, is his amazing use of Read More
Fresh off the plane from London where his joint "Pirate Utopias" show with FUTURA opened to a packed house at the venerable ELMS LESTERS PAINTING ROOMS, the Brooklyn Bomber, aka: JOSE PARLA, checks in with some fresh pix from the event. The exhibit marks the first time the NY legends have shown together and judging from the reception from the locals, it might Read More
With enough marketing dollars to buy out the Springfield "Nuc-u-lar" Plant, the PR juggernaut behind the SIMPSONS MOVIE has taken it to the Earth, this time drawing a massive visage of a donut-wielding HOMER beside the ancient "GIANT ON THE HILL" in Cerne Abbas, Dorset, England. The centuries-old 180ft chalk-filled Earth carving is a pagan fertility idol and local followers are angered by the tightie whitie-wearing intruder. Homer is drawn on the grass with biodegradable paint that will wash away completely in the first heavy rain but word has it neighborhood pagans may stage an "intervention" on their own with buckets of water. First a giant Homer, then a rioting town? Who are these PR masterminds? It’s like the TV show itself is coming to life. "Must. See. Movie"...

Alex VH, House Industries' Andy Cruz, and Diamond Dave discuss the virtues of sans-serif fonts...
ANDY CRUZ' lecture at the EAMES OFFICE in Santa Monica went off without a hitch last nite where he announced the upcoming HOUSE INDUSTRIES x EAMES collaboration project to a crowd of rabid design-o-philes including none other than VAN HALEN. Drummer ALEX VH and the inimitable DIAMOND DAVID LEE ROTHâ€â€sunglasses intactâ€â€were on hand to snatch up their copies of the limited edition House Ind–produced Eames home replicas and snag some older birds. Afterwards, the duo (high on nothing more than the juice of their long-awaited reunion tour this summer) took Andy out for a nite of partying and bacchanalian excess the likes of which he may never see again. He woke up this morning naked on the beach holding a bag of brown M&Ms...
