MC Murakami gives Nigo a run for his monkey…ÂÂ
The de facto headmaster of the Japanese modern art world, aka: TAKASHI MURAKAMI (neé “MC Murakami“) celebrated the forthcoming opening of his flagship company KAIKAI KIKI’s new Motoazabu district gallery in what can only be described as uncharacteristically wild style this weekend at the Rolling Stone Cafe in Tokyo’s upscale Roppongi Hills. With the help of an impressive array of artists, hipsters, fashionistas and A-listers, Takashiâ€â€sporting a fresh new “MC Murakami” look seemingly borrowed from fellow capitalist tastemaker Nigoâ€â€took to the microphone like a carp to a pond and ran the nite’s festivities like a seasoned pro, hosting a dreamy crew of gorgeous fetish girls, CosPlay fanatics, and assorted fun freaks. DJs Jus Ske & Doug Grayson provided the sounds while revelers dug into a sugary art cake and danced to the wee hours. HAVE A LOOK:
